“The other night I was walking down the stairs behind one of my daughters.  I was tired, and she was goofing around, you know, like kids do, doing all this stupid stuff on the stairs.  And I was thinking, ‘Please just go down the stairs and let’s get you to bed.  It’s after your bedtime.  I’ve had enough for one day.’ And then I sort of caught myself.  I snapped out of it.  I was like, ‘Dude, you should be dancing down the stairs behind her!’ ”

Amazing Number

90 percent

of American parents spank their toddlers.  Back in the 1950s, about 99 percent of American parents did.
Mothers are more likely to use spanking as a method of discipline than fathers.
In all of Scandinavia, and in most countries in Europe, spanking is illegal.

More Amazing Numbers

47 percent

of American teenagers (aged 12 to 17) living in “hands-on” households (TV, Internet and music choices are monitored along with after-school, evening and weekend activities), have an excellent relationship with their fathers, and 57 percent have an excellent relationship with their mothers. By comparison, only

13 percent

of teens with “hands-off” parents reported an excellent relationship with their fathers and 24 percent reported the same with their mothers.
